This collection honored little Miss Annie. Annie is a spunky twin, ray of sunshine, that reminds us there is nothing down about Down Syndrome. Miss Annie is the cutest and gives the absolute BEST cuddles out there. Annie is my sister-in-law’s niece, so we get the pleasure of Annie cuddles every now and then, they are great y’all.
A few facts for those who are unfamiliar with Down Syndrome. In the US the prevalence is about 1 in every 700 babies. Typically, a baby is born with 46 chromosomes. Babies with Down syndrome have an extra copy of one of these chromosomes, chromosome 21. A medical term for having an extra copy of a chromosome is ‘trisomy.’ Down syndrome is also referred to as Trisomy 21. No two cases are the same and each diagnoses story is different. I feel like Sarah with Hope That Surpasses Ministry says it perfectly, “Individuals with disabilities are often viewed and described as less, broken, and defective by worldly standards. Our goal is to expose this untruth and to promote how valued, loved and worthy we ALL are in His love that surpasses our knowledge.” I hope that this love is always shown to sweet Annie, because she is strong and brave and kind and smart and sassy and sweet and worthy.
