Showing Up, Authentically ME

When it comes to feeling confident and good about ourselves, one of the most important factors is feeling good in our clothes. When we look in the mirror and like what we see, it can make all the difference in how we approach the day. We may be more likely to tackle the tasks we have been avoiding or even just step out of our comfort zone and make a change for the better.

The first step to feeling good in our clothes is to make sure we are wearing something that fits us properly and that is in our colors (aka “season”). A great fitting outfit can do wonders for our self-esteem. Even if it’s something simple like jeans and a t-shirt or joggers and a sweatshirt, if it fits correctly and is in your colors, it can make us feel like a million bucks. I know that I am MUCH more productive with my day when I feel good about myself, We can also look for pieces that are flattering to our body type. A well-fitted dress or a great pair of jeans can give us a boost of confidence when we step out the door.

Another way to feel good in our clothes is to wear things that we feel represent our personality, who we are on the INSIDE. Our clothes can act as an extension of our identity and can be a way to express ourselves. People make snap judgements on who they think we are, before any words even come out of our mouths, What message do you wish to send? Whether it’s a bright and bold statement piece or a subtle and sophisticated look, wearing clothes that make us feel like ourselves can help us to be more AUTHENTICALLY ourselves.

That is why color and style analysis were so transformative for me. Even when I’m at home in my sweats, I still feel great about myself. I feel amazing in clothes that honor my body architecture and also who I am as a person. I no longer just wear what I see looks great on others or what is trendy, even if there is a place in our wardrobe for trendy pieces, I just buy things that make me feel most authentically AMANDA and that’s a pretty amazing feeling.
