She begged me all week to make gingerbread cookies. I would be lying if I said that I was pumped about the idea and not putting it off at all.
I was totally dreading it and putting it off. Anyone else ever get that way? Thinking of all the mess and dishes and “I just don’t have time for this”.
I finally said yes. We took some time as a family (Dad was home early!!) and did it.
Sometimes it’s good to just set aside that always full to-do list, the thoughts of the future dishes and just do the thing.
I’m so happy that we did it. We had no mishaps, it took much less time than expected and I had two very happy kiddos at the end (and a smiling mama and daddy).
Life is truly short and I need to remember that some of the seemingly small things in life are actually some of the biggest memories.
