A Simple Gift

I have been on a journey for a while now of getting rid of the clutter in our lives. The extra, the unwanted, the unnecessary. DO NOT get me wrong here, kids should have toys and all the things, but I have a max amount of things I can keep in check at my home. So when I think of getting gifts for others, I’m trying to think outside the box a little bit.

I had a moment this last week where I had to decide on a birthday gift for a few sweet little friends of ours. Their moms said not to worry about a gift, which I totally understand, but my kiddos absolutely cannot fathom going to a birthday party without a gift in hand. So what to do..I didn’t want to get them more “stuff” but also wanting to figure out something that the little girls would love. My 5, almost 6 (insert crying face), year old daughter LOVES to bake, so I asked if their little girls did too. They said “yes they love baking!”, so in comes this simple, yet cute, gift idea for those little bakers in your life.

This is what I came up with (most from Amazon, because rural life):

  • A cute bag - I got this set of three

  • A box of Funfetti cake mix

  • A container of pre-made frosting

  • Cute cupcake/muffin liners - I split this pack between the two gifts

  • Cute sprinkles - their party theme was Ariel, so these were an obvious choice

You can absolutely make this more boy friendly with the following subs - bag , liners, sprinkles
